XV WEEK

16 DEC - 20 DEC

This week we have to continue with the challenge with the students from Deusto. For Tuesday we have to upload the plans of the pieces we have designed and we have to start doing the final note. On Thursday we are going to show our project to our classmates and the students from Deusto. 

Today we have advanced with the "diseñua project";. This project will have to be presented on Thursday and a presentation will have to be made showing everything we have done so far. We also have to deliver a document where all the theory, plans, explanation of why we have chosen this tool holder and turret. . . At the presentation a video call will be made with the Salesians and each group will explain their idea by making the video call.

On Wednesday we started the classes with Julen, but we kept on finishing the challenge of the toolbox and the tower, together with the Salesian students in Deusto. Then we had class with Nagore, with her we gave class about the tolerances and the measurement machine. Then we made a simulation that we would have on Thursday, to be able to make it the best possible.

On thursday, at 9:00am we started doing the presentations with our teammates of Salesianos, it was not the final presentation, it was only to teach our project to our teachers, and to take notes of some mistake, because after christamas we are going to do another presentation but longer and giving reasons and answering teachers questions to defend what we do.

XIV WEEK

 9 DEC - 13 DEC

The past weekend has been the book fair in Durango and came a lot of people from different places. The town has been full of cars and people and this day have been good days for the hostelry sector. We have to continue the joint project with students from Deusto, for Wednesday we have to upload the different sketches and the explanation of the sketch each group mate has done.

Today we have continued doing the quot design project. We begin with Milestone 2,

in Milestone 2 we have to deliver a pdf and the minutes that we do with the Salesians.  In the video call we made with the Salesians, we clarified the doubts we had and we were

talking about the new sketch we thought to make. The new sketch we have thought of is a VDI tool holder module of a computerized

numerical control lathe, adapting it to our needs within a conventional parallel lathe.

On thursday we finished doing the 3D of our piece, the turret. First of all we went to the workshop to take some measurements, because we have to share with the other groups to know all the details. We started the day having the half of the work done, so it was not as much difficult as the other groups had. And we finished the design a 1 day before the delivery.

On Friday we began the classes with iranzu, with it we continued finishing the pieces of the tool holder of the lathe, once finished the pieces we began to assemble them, at 10,25 we went out to the patio to see the car that the students of formula student of bilbao had brought, later we finished the assembly in CATIA, we sent it to the students of salesianos and we made a video call to agree how to join the two together.

XIII WEEK

2 DEC - 6 DEC

Today 2nd of December teachers introduced us the new challenge via video call connected with other schools. For this challenge we mix with other students from Deusto, so we have to take the challenge forward between them and us. The challenge is based in to solve a problem that appears at the workshop of the school. The problem is that the tool holder of the lathe machine doesn't fit with all the tools that are used for machining, so we have to define a solution for this problem.

Today we are beginning to collaborate with the Salesian school. The first thing we did was to

get some ideas to start with the project and start taking the corresponding measurements of 

the tool holder and turret.

We began to make video calls with the Salesian group and to clarify the doubts we had in the

project. With these video calls we start to clear up those doubts and we start to have a better

communication.

On Wednesday we started classes with julen, from Monday we had started the challenge with another center, so we were not instead of making catia, we finished the sketches we had to deliver on Thursday, then with nagore we made a video call to decide how to finish the documentation of the sketches and how to assemble the two parts of the lathe. Also with nagore we had examination of the measuring machine, from 11:00 to 13:00.

On thursday we started doing a video call with Salasianos to talk about what we done during the week, and what we Will do the next week. After the break we had class with Iranzu, and she started talking to the group to say how the project was done, and then we continue working because this a day, was the day to deliver the HITO 1.

XII WEEK

25 NOV - 29 NOV

We started the week reading the winner stories from the past week. Those stories have been written by students from the different courses from Maristak. On each class, we divided in to group of 4-5 people and each group write a short story relationed with a short film. The winner of the class participated versus the other courses. On Monday, Richard gave us the mark of the writing exam we did the week before, the average of our group is 7,22, we think it’s a good mark.

Today we have begun with an examination of the issues that have been explained to us to this day. The exam was divided into two parts, in the first part we were asked to calculate the parts of a fork and get the bending force and in the second part, we were asked 5 questions related to the project. Once the exam was over, we continued finishing the die and distributing the roles played by each member of the team.

On wednesday we started classes with julen, as every wednesday, but this time instead of continuing to use CATIA julen let us continue with the challenge, because this Friday we have to deliver the design of the die along with all its documentation, then we had class with gaizka, with the also continue with the assembly of the die and others try to finish the documentation that must be delivered with the die, with nagore a group had exam of the measuring machine,finally with Iranzu, we began to create and prepare the presentation that we will have to expose to the workers of companies that will come to qualify us.

On thursaday we were preparing the presentation that we did on friday, apart of that we also had to finish the documentation to deliver it.
The next day, the first hours we start doing try outs for the presentation, that a lot of people from another class came, and also people from companies.

XI WEEK

18 Nov - 22 Nov

We started the week with a 2 hour Catia exam about parametrization, we had to parametrize the quantity of arms, arm angle, arm width and the piece height. After the break time we did an exam about different materials used is die fabrication and stamping process. To finish monday we did an english writing exam with Richard. We had to write a letter about an specific topic, following the specifications given by him. The following picture is of the piece for the Catai exam.

Today we have been with Gaizka, advancing the work we have to deliver next week. A different role has been added to each team member, and everyone has had to do the work they had to do for today. Gaizka has also given us a brief explanation of the calculations we have to make in the project. Once these explanations have been given, we have applied these formulas to get the right value and thus know the element that we have to use.

On Wednesday instead of doing Catia with Julen, Gaizka took his hour and we continue working on the die, and he explains more things about how to put some screws. After the break I started doing some calculations about the springs and the gas cylinder, it was so difficult because I had to consider a lot of things into account. The last two hour we talked about how the project was going, and what porblem we have to try to solve it.

on Thursday we started classes with Gaizka, instead of giving a normal class, we used the whole hour to carry out an activity against gender violence, first we watched a video, and then we did a micro story in groups.

then with gaizka, we had two hours to continue working on the different sections of the challenge, some continue with the sections of the bulletin and others with the assembly of the die.
